S550GD
Full-hard coated sheet: 550 MPa yield, 560 MPa tensile, no elongation requirement.
Cold-reduced without recovery annealing: very strong but with little ductility, for roofing and decking profiles. Design codes limit how much of that strength may be used.
All values
Strength
Yield strength ReH
Upper yield strength guaranteed by the product standard (minimum).
| Condition | Value | Evidence |
|---|---|---|
| ≥ 550MPa | Single source |
Tensile strength Rm
Ultimate tensile strength. Product standards give a range or a minimum.
| Condition | Value | Evidence |
|---|---|---|
| ≥ 560MPa | Single source |
S550GD in other standards
Full comparison“Equivalent” tables online usually match grades by name. This one compares the values each standard actually guarantees, so a 30 MPa gap in yield is visible before it is in your calculation.
| Grade | Standard | Min. yield at 10 mm | Tensile at 10 mm | Match | What differs |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| S550GD | ≥ 550MPa1 | ≥ 560MPa1 | — | Reference grade. | |
| G550 | ≥ 550MPa1 | ≥ 550MPa1 | Close match | Same 550 MPa yield; tensile 550 MPa (vs 560). AS/NZS 4600 reduces G550 below 0.9 mm to 75 % of its strength in design. | |
| A653 SS Grade 80 | ≥ 550MPa1 | ≥ 570MPa1 | Close match | 550 MPa (80 ksi) yield, 570 MPa (82 ksi) tensile, no elongation requirement. |
